ALQBAR is an NFT backed by physical metals
Alquimista, an American PGMs producer and refinery, is offering the digital tokenization of a collection of platinum group metals, precious and other critical metals minted into a physical ALQBAR.
Using NFT technology, Alquimista has fractionalised each ALQBAR, valued at approximately $1,000 at mint, into ten (10) tokens called Quarks to be sold individually. Digitizing and fractionalizing of each ALQBAR offers non-institutional investors of all sizes the rare opportunity to own and trade these metals. The physical ALQBARs are stored securly by Alquimista in a secure facility.
1 ALQBAR = 10 Quarks
Each ALQBAR NFT is fractionalized into 10 Quarks using a smart contract on the Ethereum blockchain that generates ten tokens linked to the indivisible original ALQBAR. The blockchain is an immutable ledger whereby the tokens can never be changed or lost. Each NFT will serve as proof of authenticity and ownership of the share in its associated ALQBAR.
Redemption is available to investors that own all 10 quarks of their respective ALQBAR. After validation and verification, Alquimista will ship the ALQBAR to its owner. The ALQBAR NFT will then be burned.

Why NFTs instead of fungible digital tokens? Each ALQBAR has a unique metal composition and physical appearance that is impossible to replicate. We chose non-fungible tokens due to the rarity of each bar. Your ALQBAR or Quark is completely unique. You will always have full ownership of your NFTs.
